The only advice I ever got from an "investment advisor," an insurance agent who sold my mother an annuity, was to buy front-loaded mutual funds of a brand he selected. They need to bring back the fiduciary rule.

We used to sell those when I worked at Merrill Lynch. Now I spend half my time removing them from new client accounts and replacing them with low cost ETFs.

The right answer to the question "What should I do to my portfolio today" is almost always "nothing". Assuming you actually have a portfolio and not a collection of things you bought from watching CNBC or reading things on Twitter.
