    im extremely lucky to have supportive friends but ultimately they hadn't had the experience firsthand, and at that time i didnt know there were others who had dealt with the same newcomers can easily be even less prepared - imo, at this point, it's a duty inform them

    at least if u start the convo early and let them decide early on that this is the battle they want to fight, u can open up the discussion to being equipped with resources to handle it my degree taught me a lot of things but this sure as hell wasnt on the curriculum

    honestly, if anything, i feel guilt abt prev. having touted infosec careers to adult women after facing *plentiful* industry sexual harassment and also having my entire career threatened for helping other women survive the same so in short, unfortunately, yes, it's responsible

    When talking to young, impressionable teenage minds, and they ask about some struggles being a woman in a male-dominated field... do you tell them the truth? Cause I just did and now I feel bad.
