Maybe it’s just me, but ”HQ is calling” rubs me the wrong way. As if every peasant desires nothing more than to visit the manor house when the feudal lord grants an audience.

Apple’s invitation to developers to apply for a day at Apple Park for WWDC 2022. The slogan is “HQ is calling”.

One way of thinking about creating value for people is: Is the value you create something in relation to something else or does it create value on its own? The later seems time-wise more stable, while the value of the first seems more volatile and often out of your control.

How many games are created with this mindset these days? You might say "but he can afford to execute this!". Maybe true, but the mindset behind it is free, and might even increase your chance of actually achieving it. Try making "success" a self fulfilling prophecy.

I've tried Pixelmator for a while next to Acorn. Pixelmator has *had* a nice-looking UI for quite some time. With recent changes to how layers work, and my general confusion how to apply effects to masked layers etc., I find myself back in Acorns arms all the time. It's good.

Ohh, CLI apps in Ruby are fun! This little script parses a YML file to prompt the user for different configuration options for an iOS app. I'll probably move to Thor or cli-kit in the future, but for now I think this gets the job done. 💪

Why is nobody in space talking about the built-in VIPER? Everyone uses evil-mode instead. I use neither, but wonder why. VIPER bad?

Bit of a change to the keyboard this morning. Out with the box white clicky switches, and in with the weirdly affordable akko lavender purple tactile switches. Also put on these gorgeous dawn keycaps.

Previous build of keyboard with white switches and dark blue space xda keycaps.
Dismantled components on purple desk mat. Box of purple switches, loose white switches, screwdriver, switch puller, case base, plate, pcb, and oled guard.
Top view of new dawn keycaps. Caps are a cream colour with gold lettering, in xda profile. Modifier keys are dark grey with charcoal glyphs, and gold with black glyphs.
Front view of rebuilt keyboard, showing keycaps and purple switches visible beneath.
