People in the administrative / regulatory state: I’m trying to understand how tightly agencies maintain territorial control of their rules/regulations. Suppose new evidence comes out suggesting a random rule an agency issued was miswritten, or is having bad results. Questions:
- Is there a single point person for this rule who it can be routed to? - Will that person know the history of that rule, and how it makes sense to change it? Will anyone? - How quickly can a revised rule be implemented? - Do the answers to these vary across orgs? countries?
also interested in answers from non-state regulatory bodies—standards organizations, NGOs with certification guidelines, etc.
