I don’t worry much about money. I have a reliable vehicle available to me, and I have a place to stay.
Many individuals do not have the same options available to them. #CampFire #ButteCounty

Today’s been rough. So many tears shed; so many hugs shared. Still I recognize how fortunate I truly am. The Little One and I are heading to stay with family who have opened their home to us. We will be comfortable and comforted.

At the moment, it’s just me and the Little One. My husband was unable to join us. The roads were closed. All lanes of traffic were used for outgoing traffic only from Paradise to Oroville. (At least that’s my understanding.)

Part of the reason I share is ... because I have family living on the East Coast. Family desperate for any news. Family I want to reassure with pictures and words that I am fine.

Packing your life into a vehicle is quite an experience. Whereas I took a more practical approach and stuck to the essentials, ... the Little One insisted on transporting half her room in the car with us. Tonight I wasn’t going to argue with her.

Tonight I will try to sleep. Even though I may struggle to sleep peacefully, I dare not risk driving five hours to my in-laws house. With traffic tonight, it would have been more like seven hours. My husband will be waiting for us. He left for his parent’s from work.
