I've seen precisely zero IPs (movies, books, games) that fully explore this. At most it's used as a gimmick and never given widespread implementation.

Books: Larry Niven had a stab at it back in the 70s. I tackled it (lightly) in the background in "Glasshouse". IIRC the game "Portal" used it as a gimmick. But it's been out of fashion for a couple of decades.

I always felt that Star Trek severely underestimated the impact that availability of teleportation would have had on civilisation. The world depicted isn't nearly as radically transformed at it should be.
