Obama thought he could mollify conservatives by stepping up deportations of people who commit crimes and all he succeeded in doing was building up a lawless proto(?)-concentration camp organization.

even from his POV and the POV of those who agreed with him, it should be abundantly clear that this was a mistake. Empowering the United States to be cruel to people this country already hates---people of color---is always a mistake, whether its the 94 crime bill or Obama's ICE.

When Democrats seize power, ICE must be dismantled. That doesn't mean zero enforcement (though I personally wish it would), but it does mean that ICE has proven itself in every way incapable of handling the responsibility entrusted to it.

as long as some form of immigration enforcement exists, there must be a countervailing force, with the power of the United States government behind it, that fights for the rights of immigrants.
