If there were political motivations for the investigation into Trump’s connections with Russia, the investigation would have been revealed prior to Nov. 8, 2016. Period. The investigation is for national security purposes, not political ones.
Congress may eventually begin an investigation for political purposes, as the Benghazi investigation ultimately turned into (or was intended to be from the outset), but the FBI’s investigation plainly bore no political purpose.
Even among the agents conducting the investigation themselves there was no anti-Trump, pro-Clinton political agenda. We know this because we have seen how easy it is for damning information to leak. If the goal was to elect Clinton, agents would have leaked to the media.
