and like, I get it, this is the logical of liberalism: if action x is wrong in circumstance y it is also wrong in circumstance z. But like... idk maybe right and wrong isn't a binary and something can be a net good in circumstance z and a net bad in circumstance y?
Anyway, without weighing in on the rightness or wrongness of it, I think we should probably recognize that expecting American Jews to speak out re: Israel is very different than expecting Muslims to speak out re: terrorism in the name of Islam?
and any ethical system that flattens that difference to "if it's evil for Suzy it's evil for John" is a pretty bad ethical system?
