do you... really think... any kind of prison reform is passing given this president and the base to which he is accountable? And are you weighing that (small) chance against the veneer of not-racism your presence grants openly racist politicians?
I'm a huge fan so I assume you have thought through these concerns but like... I can see the benefits of engaging with Trump VOTERS. I have trouble discerning the strategy behind working with Trump and his appointees politically.

and I mean forget legislative reform, which is obviously not happening. Any kind of regulatory/administrative reform is never going to happen with Jeff Sessions as AG. I REALLY don't get the strategy here. But I'm a rando on twitter, not an experienced activist so what do I know.

We are working to pass a bill to help people come home from prison sooner. Any such bill will need Trump’s signature. We could fail. But we will certainly fail if we don’t try.
Well, still seems to me that the risks of providing bipartisan cover to a racist president far outweigh the rewards of any bill Donald Trump would sign but again, what do I know. Best of luck!
