Our responsibility isn’t for every individual to have a “both sides are flawed” view. Like it or not, people will continue to see things from where they’re standing. Our responsibility is to work towards a balance of power at the societal level.
Put another way, I don’t care if the rich hate the poor or the poor hate the rich. I don’t care if the blacks hate the whites or the whites hate the blacks. I care about if the rich dominate the poor, as they do. If the whites dominate the blacks, as they do.
We get too caught up in every individual having a good liberal outlook full of equanimity and civility and whatever. Fuck that. I wanna know how is the power set up, and how can we set up more fairly.
And in fact, I think two sides hating each other can HELP achieve a balance of power sometimes. But anyway enough of that sermon.
