Do they understand that the goal, in the long term, is to create powerful anti-racist norms, such that actively anti-racist public policy becomes possible due to the very radicalization of a certain subset of whites that is the true source of racists' rage?
I guess... I don't understand why anyone seriously thinks we're just going to get out of America's reckoning with race by having everyone hush up and let the racists say their piece? That might accomplish short-term Clintonesque electoral victory, but it won't forward antiracism.
and I guess this is the "playing defense" argument, but damn, you can't JUST play defense. That can't be the ONLY thing you do, surely?
