That’s not quite it. It’s not that you “came across as” defending the guy. The question is: do you think the social shaming he is experiencing is worse than what he did? Do you see it as a necessary evil or unnecessary evil? Should it be happening? If not, what should happen?
I hate when people apologize for shit that’s not actually what you’re mad at. In real life and on the internet. We understood you clearly: you don’t like what he did, but you don’t like “the mob” as a response. So what DO you want as a response?
