You know, "abolish the CIA" is not an unreasonable goal within our lifetime. and wouldn't necessarily require some horrible revolution to achieve either. It just requires a major rethinking of how the US relates to other nations.

again, the question of how the United States can behave in a morally acceptable manner as a nation among other nations is probably the thorniest and maybe more crucial political question that exists right now.

I keep going back to how conservatives are DEAD SET on the idea that abortion is the great moral horror of the second half of the 20th century. Why don't folks left of center have the same moral clarity about US imperialism (with a far clearer and better case)?
