That allows us to agree that we are working from the same very very basic set of facts. And it makes it possible for us to have a conversation. It's really that simple. Your conservative viewpoint is welcome! Denying the existence of racism is not.
And it doesn't even necessarily require the admission of fault by conservatives, or not quite. It just means saying, "of course, [insert policy idea here] will disproportionately affect black and Hispanic people because of residential segregation. The way to address that is..."
Or like, "regardless of the reason, black people encounter the police more often. So [insert police policy here] will affect black communities in ways xyz..."
And yeah that forces conservatives to be upfront about their analysis of WHY black people encounter the police more often, or the fact of residential segregation. And maybe they make a discredited claim in giving the why. But at least they address the obvious facts.
