And like... was As I Am quite at the level of Diary? No. But it was enough. It gave me what I needed. And I tried to get the same thing out of Element of Freedom but I swear it was like drawing blood from a stone, y'all.

I don’t even get why she decided to go in a Prince direction bc when she links up with that old school R&B Gladys Knight/Ashford and Simpson/Motown vibe??? MAGIC. She was giving us like a sequel to Aretha on Rose is Still A Rose and it was perfect.
