The funny thing about conservatives is that they won't come out and say what they want to happen to people who have benefitted from liberal reforms since, say, 1949.
What do you want to happen to women who have abortions? What do you want to happen to the gays who continue, you know, being gay? What do you want to happen to women in the workplace? What do you want? They can't be clear about that bc it's all cruel.

In a way, the fact that the white nationalist wing of the Republican party is open about wanting a white supermajority in American demographics are the vanguard in that they're HONEST about their endgame. But the rest of them want things that are just as pragmatically cruel.

People say that liberals have no vision of the world, but that's not true. What's more accurate to say is that no one has a vision of the world that doesn't already exist.

Liberals have no economic vision bc the conservative economic order is more or less the one we have. Similarly, conservatives have no clear social vision, bc the liberal social order is more or less the one we have. (I'm talking culture and mindset here, not policy ofc).

(and re: culture not policy that's true for both, right? Bc obviously no one practices a pure free market capitalism, but that's sort of held up as the ideal or the normal cultural position, and those who dissent are Outside The Mainstream. That's hopefully changing since 2008.)
