I just find that convo reductive and stupid and usually wrong. Because what it really means is "more black men are poor and/or live in communities of concentrated poverty than white women." Which is true.
Sigh. I really enjoy Culture Kings podcast but EYE would not be caught out here having one of those "who has it worse? White women or black men??" type conversations without a woman in the discussion.

But holding questions of class/background constant and equal, I have a lot of trouble saying a cishet black man has less privilege than a cishet white woman.

(Side note: I say class/background bc "class" is really not sufficient when it comes to black folks, bc that implies income. And plenty black folks have middle class income, but deal with a lot of bullshit bc of living in the hood.)

But anyway when it comes to comparing oppressions, I think of it like there are a lot of holes out there dug for all of us to fall into. Maybe there are 50 holes for me, 40 for you, but if all of yours are dug in places where you always go, and mine are in places I never go...
