Lol Ron Kirk should come back and challenge Julian Castro in the 2020 primary to run for Cornyn’s seat. Dallas still stans for Ron Kirk I’m pretty sure.

If ‘02 hadn’t been such a good cycle for Rs, I think Ron Kirk could have won. He was very, very popular in a bipartisan way. If ‘02 had been as anti-President’s-party as ‘10 or ‘18, I think Ron Kirk would currently be a sitting senator.
