Most black pastors/preachers are male, from the days of CL Franklin to TD Jakes to whoever is popular now. Musician-wise we've had Prince, Jimi, Chuck Berry, Teddy Pendergrass...
the point is, yes, Beyonce is a rallying point for a lot of people... but that really is because a) no one dominates their industry the way Beyonce does (although no one compares to Martin/Malcolm in activism or Obama in politics), and b) black boys have more options.
