The ACA was better designed than even its supporters realized: it's been robust to Trumpian efforts at sabotage, largely thanks to the structure of subsidies. Interesting point: it's looking more and more like stealth single-payerhttps://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/4/5/17198362/obamacare-enrollment-2018-trump-sabotaging …

I certainly support the ACA but it needs reform. My $1200/month + 6k deductible is not single payer.

Ours is $1300 a month with a $14k deductible. It’s basically useless. Definitely needs reform, or to go back to before Rs began dismantling it. My ER copay is $1,000. It’s ridiculous.

I don't trust your numbers, to be honest, but if they're true it's definitely ridiculous! How come they are that excessive?

Why comment if you’re going to accuse me of lying? What would be my motivation? Especially given that I’m a democrat and was very pro ACA. When it started, I had the best most affordable insurance I’ve in my adult life. Now that Rs have messed with it, it sucks.

This is what is happening to those of us who are self employed. Believe it or don’t.

yep. as premiums go up, things are OK for people with subsidies, but middle class/upper middle class folks who don't get insurance from employers get screwed pretty bad. That's my parents.
