When is Chadwick Boseman going to be in an August Wilson play. He was the best part of the Green Space reading of Gem of the Ocean, he spoke the language flawlessly and I NEED him to do August Wilson. Is Denzel still tryna do those movies?? I WANT IT!!
I've always thought August Wilson should be done in rep bc he is so into character archetypes and I feel like with these movies Denzel has the opportunity to effectively do the century cycle in rep. What I wouldn't give to work on that.
(Although I continue to believe Denzel's sincere Christianity will rub up awkwardly against August's homegrown syncretic symbolist post-Christian gumbo religion and sitting mum while that mismatch kills some of August's best moments might kill me.)
