YEP. Came down to Dallas expecting a radically different rental market and like... not so much. And there was just a big fight in one of the larger suburbs about more high density housing vs suburban McMansion property values.
Oh, came to Dallas from New York, that is.

As someone who moved from SF to NYC, NYC's honestly not bad once you remember that you're replacing the $800/month car (payment, gas, maintenance) with a $121 subway pass and maybe a hundred a month in Ubers and/or rentals. SF/LA are a whole different world.

So eventually, I'll move to Dallas, but it'll be for major improvements in the quality of my housing, not drastic reductions in my cost.
