I always want to use cisgendered with the “d” bc I feel like unlike being trans, being cis IS something that happens to you, that is done to you. Cis means that when someone else assigned me a gender, they got it right. Not-cis means what someone else did wasn’t accurate to me.
And I don’t mean “that is done to you” like that’s a bad thing, this isn’t a like “cis people have it worse” tweet (yuck), it’s just a “hm, it’s kind of backwards of what people used to think. Trans isn’t something that’s done to you; being cis is something that’s done to you.”
