Why did so many good artists from the 2000s have two great albums and then either disappeared or fell off? D'Angelo, India.Arie, Jill Scott, Alicia Keys all fit that pattern to a greater or lesser extent, imo.

Jill's 3rd album is her worst, imo, but she's been on an upward trend since. For me, Diary is the absolute peak pinnacle of Alicia Keys' career, probably one of the best albums of the decade and it's been downhill ever since.

I agree about Alicia Keys but I love all of Jill's albums.

I mean... I don’t HATE any of them but I did think that Real Thing was a noticeable step down from Beautifully Human. I like the latest one a lot though. I don’t think any of Jill’s are as bad as Element of Freedom, for sure.
