Sigh I was tweeting about radicalism and then twitter crashed and I'm not saying big brother is watching but I'm not saying he's NOT okay?
Anyway, I think what the M-Ls really want is the violent overthrow of the United States government but that is a) impossible, b) probably unethical, and c) effectively thought crime to even discuss publicly (like the FBI will show up at your door).
But that ideology, concerned as it is with the immediate need not to ameliorate but to end the suffering of working people, is fairly hostile to gradual solutions like voting system reform and social wealth funds. (I think that kinda stuff gets called Trotsky-ish or w/e).
So then, what really should American leftists be doing, esp folks like me who believe in radical change in continuity with existing institutions? And how does that play out in an internationalist, anti-imperial context?
