It still seems obvious to me (and is visible in income & education data) that integration has had positive social and economic effects for black folks. But between racial backlash and 50 years of attacks on working class and poor people, the economic effect is practically nil.
I had a whole thread about it but basically what the info re: black progress is stagnant since 68 tells me is that the forces of racial progress have not been sufficient to overcome the regressive forces around class issues.
