Several things that can all be true at the same time: -Netflix lowballed Monique on some misogynoir bullshit -Monique is funnier and more accomplished than Amy Schumer -Monique's market value is lower than Amy Schumer's (but ALSO higher than what NF offered!

-Monique is difficult to work with -Being called "Difficult to work with" has as much to do with race and gender as with behavior -Having any material consequences from being difficult has MORE to do with race and gender (and fatphobia/"attractiveness") than behavior

(an aside to note that fatphobia isn't actually reducible to attractiveness, as many many many many people have noticed/experienced. Both racist conventional beauty standards AND fatphobia are relevant to Monique's unjust treatment.)

-Monique has been 100% in the right in her public discourse re: being lowballed. -Monique (and her husband-manager) have, until the recent set of counter-punches, handled this dispute ineffectively.

-Monique loves us for real -The rest of us ALSO love us for real -Wasn't nobody finna boycott netflix WE DON'T PAY FOR behind them mistreating Monique. -But we will pay for tickets to her tour!

Although, now that I think about it, calling for a Netflix boycott is a really ineffective way of getting Netflix to pay you right---cause the boycott ain't happening---but it is a VERY effective way of keeping your name in the news to improve ticket sales for your comedy tour.
