And I know I know it won't solve everything but it will hedge against some of the worst possibilities of the Trump administration. And perhaps we can get them to pull a GOP and do a bunch of symbolic votes we can later hold them to.

For sure they need to hold votes on a single-payer healthcare plan. Like seriously seriously work on a plan that can pass with say 3-5 R votes in the Senate.

Also I still want filibuster reform set circa 55-57 votes, ideally with a statutory basis so the precedent of lowering cloture doesn't pragmatically mean the threshold becomes however many senators the majority party has.

Nancy Pelosi will piss everybody off by insisting that everyone wait til Mueller's investigation is over before any impeachment vote. I do wonder if Mueller finds cause for obstruction of justice but not conspiracy or campaign finance violations whether impeachment happens.

OTOH that could lead to Dems + moderate Rs brokering major electoral reform so the moderate R party can continue to exist (e.g. ranked choice voting, multi-member districts, etc.) ofc Electoral College reform would have to be part of the package.

Also geez, what does a pure popular vote Presidential campaign even look like? The data whiz folks would probably all either implode or orgasm on the spot. Maybe both.
