There's actually a lot of the Satan problem in Black Panther, although T'Challa is still pretty compelling (unlike Milton's God.)

Realizing that the ur-text for the seductive villain whose defeat is not quite a repudiation is Paradise Lost and that's why it's so easy for me to say Killmonger's defeat is not a repudiation of his ideas.

I like that one too, and I think that was the conscious intent of the film/filmmakers. But esp in that last line of his I think there's a strong case being made for the validity of his whole attitude/approach. "I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees" type thing.
