Like: liberal democracy good, Cromwell's attempt... an important milestone but also not the ideal practice. And also like Britain's transition to liberal democracy, if the imperial US DOES transition to socialism, it is likely to be gradual as with the British monarchy.
And perhaps there will still be a ceremonial function for capitalists to serve in socialist America. They can be figureheads of the nationalized capital funds that are actually run by the people via secure cell phone voting from home.
But whatever don't listen to me about socialism and communism bc I haven't actually studied and so am quite ignorant.
I will also add that this comes from a very Western POV, bc as bad as it is, capitalist liberal democracy did represent a historical step forward for white-majority nations, just as I hope socialism will represent for us all.
But for non-Western nations, many of which had more equitable governance structures prior to western contact/colonialism (I believe), capitalist liberal democracy may have been a step backwards.
But again, not a scholar of history not socialism nor anything else except poetry, plays, and pop music so I am talking out of my ass bc this is Twitter where you do that!!
