Every time I think that the Republican Party is nihilistic and off the deep end, I remember many of them think the same about us.
But I do often think that many Republicans are fighting for something abstract that they will never be able to gain through political power. I think that actually leads to MORE extremism than a movement rooted in more specific political ideology.
