I'm kinda seeing it as a modern-day take on forget about the boy, almost? And the other voices could come in on the pre-chorus except it would be refashioned as a C section.

I feel like Daddy Issues (with the possible exception of the pre-chorus) would be a great musical theater song. It would be orchestrated wrong and you'd have to change the 2nd verse to make it do more plot work but otherwise...
