But at a certain point... you put yourself at risk of sacrificing your humanity to point out the oppressor’s inhumanity. And like... I will say having read the entire thread that is quoted in that tweet, it is not that bad. It does express empathy for the slain.
But I dunno man there is a fine, fine line between repping oppressed people even when the oppressor is suffering and failing the Priam test. At the end of the day, if you can’t grieve your dead and your enemy’s dead, together, alongside that enemy, with empathy...
You’re in danger of losing something as valuable as whatever it is you’re playing for. Maybe more valuable. Jesus was really, really serious when He said “what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul.” He knew the value of gaining the world.
A poor, nomadic handyman from the shitty part of a colonized nation knows what gaining the world means, knows how much justice you’d be able to do. He still said your soul is worth more. I’m willing to skirt that line, but when it comes to ppl dying... I don’t play w\ that.
