Can I just say: I don't like the bipartisan compromise immigration legislation that moves away from family reunification. It takes so damn long to get a visa for family members already, I don't think we need to make it even harder or make it impossible altogether.
Also the "skill-based" visas are obviously a lot less desirable if you will never be able to bring ANY of your family over to live in the same country as you, no?
I hope Dems have sufficient power post-2020 to increase rather than decrease our overall immigration numbers, and ALSO offer more skill-based visas, and of course provide a path to citizenship for undocumented folks.
