Sigh. This government un-shutdown deal is playing politics with peoples lives. Which people are justly furious at. But perhaps we should be furious at the system that causes us to play such games rather than at the Democratic Party for playing them?
We wouldn't be in this predicament if we reformed our electoral system so that it did not provide excess power to suburban and rural whites. I am always more into relying on our electoral muscle than politicians' morals.
