      Disco was so brilliantly gay. My life would have sucked balls (*rimshot*) but part of me still wishes I could have been a little older than my parents and fucked off to New York at 17 or 18 (I had family out there!) and been just a ROTTEN club kid in the 70s.

      And I say that in full awareness that I'm imagining a life that is FAR more dangerous and far less comfortable than the life I have now. But shrug, I might have made it, I might have survived. On the other hand, I really, REALLY might not have.
