Luckily, only Taylor's first couple singles were attempted sparseness and she went back to her pop shit for the other songs, which is presumably why some people found that album successful (also, lyrics).

But I have a feeling a LOT of Justin's album will be unsuccessful faux-trap/mumblerap sparse. Which is double bad because all of his good impulses are towards lushness and harmonic/melodic complexity, e.g., Mirror, LoveStoned.
