i think this is fair. i also think he wrestled with the choices he had to make more than any president since perhaps carter.
Absolutely! But also that matters less than none to the families of people he murdered or deported. And they matter as much as he does.

i agree that his grief / conscience over terrible acts do not excuse them, or matter to those harmed. but i prefer a leader who understands the gravity and consequences of difficult choices than one who considers them merely part of a day's work.

Absolutely! I prefer that too. I just want to do my best to give adequate weight to human life, even/especially ppl very different from me.
