It was good but also very racist. If you take the ethics out of it, a well-constructed and enjoyable film.

Some characters were obviously racist. Was the film racist for not treating their racism with due seriousness or disgust?

The film was racist bc it was profoundly uninterested in black people and black suffering, but used black people as props.

We were there to indicate the ethical status of white characters, but ultimately their moral growth required no reckoning with blackness.

Also the only person that goes to jail in the whole movie is a black person, for weed, despite EVERYTHING else that happens.

And I wasn't sure if the film caught that irony or just embodied it. But again, no interest at all in how this affected this black woman.
