and I reserve the right to post this gif with the caption "black women of Alabama carrying this poor weary country on through to the other side" on every single close Senate vote from now until 2021. (No, not 2019, 2021).pic.twitter.com/wU1icIgZhu

and if I don't get AT LEAST five thinkpieces about how black women saved America and led the resistance (going back to Michelle Obama AT LEAST), I'm fighting all y'all. And I don't mean in the Root and Essence neither I'm talking NYT, WaPo, Atlantic, New Yorker.

I heard this morning on PSA that they expect that black voters would need to make up a higher percentage of the vote than of the wider Alabama population for Jones to win. That was really surprising to me, but it likely shouldn't have been.

I feel like this country expects more from black voters than white voters but discusses the impact & importance of those voters so much less than we should.

Um. Clearly. Imagine if black voters wanted to put a black pedophile into office. But yeah I am really very much about screaming about how essential to the Democratic coalition black voters are, and how black folks should have power in the party proportionate to our impact.
