Hmmmm those spending overrides looked like they saved lives to me. And the only example I could find of Baker vetoing something besides budget and pay raises was something about Lyme disease that the state leg DID override. I mean. I would assume the governor acquiesces to a fair number of things because he knows he'll lose. In that case, the veto power is more of a PR tool. So you veto budget items to signal Fiscal Responsibility bc that seems like a winner, but maybe not popular legislation.
