idk man, it sounded like you were pissed bc the author of the story/the readers didn't empathize with the man enough. Or didn't focus on men who have had an experience correlating more to the woman's than the man's.

and I really think that falls under the heading of let people have their moment to think about their thing. i.e., we don't bring up white drug addicts treated unfairly while we're all discussing how America has treated black addicts.

bc lo and behold, when there DOES start to be white addicts en masse, we don't treat em right, but we sure as hell treat em better. I am willing to bet the dynamic is similar with men and women.

and I mean that comparison. Doesn't mean opiate addiction is any less harrowing or horrific and whoever makes fentanyl is just as evil for profiting off of addiction as the CIA/Ronald Reagan is are evil for profiting off of addiction.

but it does mean that when Team Social Justice gives a little extra oomph to the marginalized group that experiences the same awful awful thing, it's well-founded, cause we have a societal bias towards privilege to (try and) compensate for.
