Obviously everyone who’s allowed should vote, but why the assumption that felons are more prone to vote democratic?

idk maybe bc one party supports failed mass incarceration policies and private prisons and the death penalty and punitive incarceration and even post-release denial of voting rights and the other party... doesn't?

it was and is a racist bipartisan effort with notables from both parties (Rockefeller, Nixon towards the beginning, Reagan and B. Clinton at its zenith). Dems have since taken steps toward criminal justice reform, which Rs have resisted and/or reversed.
