Idk why we can't just say "we trust liberal institutions to do what they do, and where we can't trust them, we fight them."
But shouldn't we celebrate that we can increasingly trust liberal institutions to resist encroachments on liberalism from the right?

Used to be, these so-called liberal institutions WERE the threat to liberalism from the right. (To a greater degree than at present.)

We have more power over them now than then. That matters. It's moving too slowly, and our leaders adapt to the institutions and vice verse.

But we can and should celebrate these institutions when they resist fascism and racism.

And deplore them when they defend pro-hegemonic anti-liberation liberalism "by any means necessary" including state surveillance and murder.
