Oh I forgot DACA happened in 2012 and the attempted expansion was 2014. I... am not sure. He would have been under heavy pressure to do so.

Romney was pretty pro-immigration, I thought. Meanwhile, Obama stepped up deportations big-time. I know people who were working in the Justice Department, and they had to prosecute those deportations.

Romney might have been but his coalition definitely wasn't, which I think matters a lot. But true, re: deportations.

Yeah. The biggest reason to vote against Romney, even if the Dem had been someone much lamer than Obama, was the nature of the people in Romney's coalition.
