Wait wait wait wait, you're tying this to watching the objectively far worse earlier Marvel movies (possible exception for Spider-Man 1 but those others were almost all trash) rather than like... idk... reading the actual comics??
Also it is a whole entire 2017. I can hit Marvel.wikia and in 15 minutes know more about a superhero than a fanzine-writing comic book geek from the 80s. If they wanna be stans, let them stan!
