What we really ought to be thinking about is: given the unrefuted truth of the critique of white supremacy, how can we move towards justice within electoral politics.

and of course the very obvious solution emerges: register more nonwhite voters, give them the tools to increase their civic engagement. Help communities and people of color build power, politically and elsewhere.

Considering all the tools white supremacy uses against it, increased voter participation is key to overturning it, by its own implicit admission.

the issue is, despite the fact that we know they don't want to have to choose between our stable democratic structure and white social/political hegemony, if/when forced to make the choice, we don't know what people will choose.

I agree that we don't know, but better participation almost has to lead to better representation, at least. Starting from local races on up. I can almost guarantee that the candidate for the local board of education with the "foreign looking name" would have...

And that would not have a perfectly predictable result, it's worth a gamble that it would mean something to all those non-white kids going to the schools.
