It implies---contrary to plain numerical fact---that the current Democratic party coalition, centering as it does on disproportionate support from historically oppressed groups---has been essentially captured by minority groups.
(meanwhile, if it was actually one man one vote in this country---and it's not at all, we balance interests according to geography---Dems would be able to govern just fine.)

What assurances are you going to offer the current, ENTIRELY LEGITIMATE, core of the party that we won't be left behind and forgotten again? We're easy to forget. The whole society is set up to encourage you to forget us. Are you even aware of that?

I see a lot of plans to generate a winning Democratic coalition. That's important and wonderful! I don't see a lot of plans to do so while still respecting the existing *actually-a-majority-but-not-a-governing-one* coalition.
