NOW that said, something norm-breaking but perhaps in some circumstances worth considering would be appointing 2 non-Dems, perhaps members of the Working Families Party or the Greens or some such, to the FCC, bypassing the need for 2 Republicans.
But idk that's a norm that's probably not worth breaking as long as the US genuinely has a mostly two party system.
